Meet Pixie Poo

My first dog rescue.

When I lost the love of my life – my Maltese, Reggie, I decided to rescue a Chihuahua. I’ve never had one, and they are probably not first on my adoption list. But after doing research, I found that next to pit bulls, Chihuahua's are the next type of dog that fill up shelters. So, Pixie it was.

I got her from a rescue and drove an hour and a half to get her.

She was adorable. BUT, when I brought her home I realized she had mange, kennel cough, and Giardia, which is hard to treat and causes awful diarrhea.

But all these ailments only gave me more knowledge that I will need to run my own rescue someday.

She now rules the house and is fat as a pig (which I would also love to adopt someday.)
